Active Isolated Stretching

The Active Isolated Stretching technique involves the method of holding each stretch for only two seconds. This method of stretching is also known to work with the body’s natural physiological makeup to improve circulation and increase the elasticity of muscle joints and fascia.

Active Isolated Stretching works with the body’s natural physiological makeup to improve circulation and increase elasticity of muscle, joint, and connective tissue. In performing this technique, the client isolates muscles that are to be stretched by contracting the opposing muscles. Contracting a muscle on one side of a joint causes the muscle on the opposite side to relax which helps the muscle to stretch more efficiently.
